Rest and Regenerate

I rest peacefully, and in that rest regenerate for the works of spirit to come.

riday at sunset starts the Sabbath in Judaism. The surface of the Easter story had it important to bury Jesus before the Sabbath, when no work could be done. On the metaphysical level, Joseph of Arimathea represents the imagination working at a high spiritual level.

The story skips from when the tomb was sealed on Friday to Sunday, when the Sabbath rest was completed. Jesus had shed his old consciousness. It was time to rest and imagine and fully grow into his new consciousness.

As we let go of our old consciousness, let us use our highest imagination to envision our new and higher consciousness as we go forward. Let us rest there for the needed time before going out.

St. Mark 15:46, “And Joseph bought linen, and took him down and wrapped him in it, and laid him in a tomb which was hewn in a rock; and he rolled a stone against the door of the tomb.”
