Change and Acceptance

I accept all around me as they are, children of the Most High, with their own lessons to learn and teach.

n old joke states that women go into marriage planning to change the man, and men go in hoping the woman never changes. Both are doomed to failure. Everyone will change, grow, and develop, but the impetus for change comes from the inside. We cannot push or pull our loved ones in a given direction. Usually, that only causes them to push or pull harder in the opposite direction.

Instead, let us learn to accept our loved ones and people in general as they are. Accept that we cannot change them. Accept that we cannot make their decisions for them. They are here to live their lives as we are here to live ours. We accept their paths of life.

Romans 11:32, “For God has included all men in disobedience, that he might have mercy on every man.”
