Sustenance

Apparent lack in any form has no power over me. God sustains me and all around me.

ny lack we see may be temporary fact, but is not Truth. In the bleak midwinter of a mind’s mood, we may say, “There is nothing left for me here.” Whether it is lack of employment or lack of the feeling of belonging in a changing organization we once called home, the Truth is that God can sustain us through this time.

Let us turn our eyes from this temporary lack to search for our strengths, assets, and connections. Even the smallest good we can find in the situation is also a fact, and what we focus on grows. It becomes the more important fact and our reality. God is the only source of our supply. God will sustain us.

Psalm 55:22, “Cast your worries upon the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never suffer the righteous to fear want.”
