Honor the Sabbath Let us honor the Sabbath each and every moment by resting in God’s presence. he Sabbath is seeking a peaceful moment in the presence of God. Does that preclude doing what might be considered work? If an individual loves their work, gains energy from it, and can think of how blessed they are while they work, are they not having Sabbath moments? While some can keep God in mind while doing complex tasks, others often find themselves meditating while doing more repetitive tasks. Doing the dishes? Tending a garden? Carpentry? Painting? If we find we are doing great work with little effort, perhaps it is not we, but the Father within who has done the work? Wherever we find joy and remember that God is there with us, we have found a Sabbath moment. St. Mark 2:27, “And he said to them, The Sabbath was made for the sake of man, and not man for the sake of the Sabbath.” 7/9/2016 | |
