Vision Quest

The Mountains of Spirit are within me, and divine visions are with me always.

ne may read of people who sat on mountaintops under conditions of great privation to receive visions. We need not go to distant mountains. The mountains are within us, the high peaks of spirit. Paul did not climb a mountain all alone to have his vision of Christ. He was on the road to Damascus, a crowded, civilized city.

Let us turn within. Let us seek out a quiet, high place of Spirit. Let us ask our questions there, “God, how may we better serve? What visions do you have for us, Lord? What is your will, Father?” Let us rest in this high and silent place. God’s life is in us and will bring us visions, understanding, and light.
