Understanding

I am filled with spiritual understanding about all events in my life.

ife can seem chaotic and purposeless. We go here and there to do this and that and then go somewhere else to do something else. We hear things on the news and are happy or upset about these ephemeral phenomena. But happiness and unhappiness do not come from externalities. They come from our thoughts and emotions about events.

We are in control of our thoughts and emotions. We often need to step back from the event to see if there is another direction to look at it from. We need to ask, how does Spirit see this? How does God understand this? What lessons should we be learning from this event? How do we improve ourselves? What are we missing?

II Corinthians 4:18, “We do not rejoice in the things which are seen, but in the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.”
