Forgive Us Forgive us, Father, for we know not what we do. orgiveness is not for the forgiven. We do not and cannot know what is going on in the mind of those whom we see as trespassing against us. We only know our own thoughts and emotions about the event. And if we think that someone has trespassed against us, then those thoughts and emotions are not the most peaceful or generous we could hold. Let us remember in times of anger and frustration that it is we who need healing, that the forgiveness is for us and us alone. Let us train ourselves to recognize these moments and be willing to forgive and find new ways to think about those around us and the situations they participate in with us. Luke 23:34, “And Jesus said, O Father, forgive them, for they know not what they are doing.” 2/19/2017 | |
