Look Within

The Kingdom of Heaven is within me. I am attentive to God’s presence within me.

ome Christians are waiting for the Kingdom of Heaven to come after death and resurrection when apocalyptic visions are fulfilled and Jesus comes again to rule us all. But that is not what Jesus taught.

Jesus said that the Kingdom of Heaven or Kingdom of God is at hand, and that it is within us, closer than hands or feet. He did not say that it was far off in time or place hidden behind pearly gates in the sky. These teachings are metaphors to help us envision the best place that can be, but we shall not find that place outside of us.

We must turn within to find our connection to God, the upwelling fountain of spiritual energy.

Luke 17:21, “Neither will they say, Behold, it is here! or, behold, it is there! for behold, the kingdom of God is within you.”
