Who Are You?

I am the Christ, Child of the living God.

hrist was not Jesus’ last name. Christ does not apply to Jesus alone, but to all of humanity. The Christ is the God-foundation of each human being, our connection with the divine. Jesus was first to demonstrate it, but he knew he would not be the last. In John 14:12, he tells us that we are bound for even greater things.

We have that same connection, if we open ourselves to the Truth of it. God is present within us. Not just a little bit of God, but all of God; everywhere we go, God is fully present. We do not bring our Father with us. He is there before us. We are the Christ, Children of the living God.

St. Matthew 16:16, “Simon Peter answered, saying, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
