Reinforcement

The words I speak and think reinforce my beliefs. I choose my words carefully.

e have all had complaints at some point in life. We certainly also know people who complain and grumble and accuse others incessantly. The Bible does not tell us to complain unceasingly; it enjoins us to pray unceasingly.

The important reason for this is that words we think and say reinforce the thoughts in our minds and help to express them in our lives and affairs. Science has shown that each time we remember an event, we change the memory. If we remember events reinforcing the bad through complaint, we make our memories worse.

Thus, we must choose our thoughts and words carefully. We must remember and speak the good. We must bless ourselves with each memory and praise life.

Ephesians 4:29, “Let no word proceed from your mouth, but words that are good and useful for edification, that they will impart blessing for those who hear them.”
