Declaring Independence These circumstances have no hold over me; through the Christ Spirit within, I measure circumstances justly and know that I am free.
When we feel outer circumstances closing in and restricting us, perhaps a past job loss, fear of losing our present job, or a negative family situation, then it is time for us to remember that we are not measuring with true scales, with God’s scales. We must deny the power of these circumstances and assert God’s true measure that we are free and can be happy. n the United States, we celebrate
Independence Day on July 4th in honor of men who trusted in God that through righteous action, they could be free of
circumstances they found intolerable. They asserted that their rights were not granted or revoked via the governments of man, but were God-
given rights, and therefore inalienable.
